RosterBlur Privacy Policy
Effective July 13, 2026
RosterBlur is built so there is nothing to worry about: the extension makes zero network requests and collects no data of any kind.
The browser extension
- It sends nothing anywhere. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, no remote configuration, and no account system.
- Your settings, per-site blur lists, class rosters, and Pro license key are stored only in your browser's local extension storage on your device. They never leave it, and they are removed when you delete them or uninstall the extension.
- To find names to blur, the extension reads the text of pages you visit locally, on your device, in the moment. That text is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- The Pro license key is verified on your device against a public key that ships inside the extension. No activation server is contacted.
The purchase and activation website
This website (rosterblur-pro.netlify.app) is separate from the extension and is only used when you buy Pro:
- Payments are processed entirely by Stripe under the Stripe privacy policy. We never see your card details.
- After checkout, the activation page uses the checkout session id in its address to confirm the purchase with Stripe and issue your license key. The service keeps no database and stores nothing about you.
- Revisiting your activation link re-issues the same key; that lookup also stores nothing.
Selling and sharing
No data is collected, so nothing is ever sold, shared, or transferred to anyone.
Changes and contact
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Questions: hilgendorfjude@gmail.com.
